Points to Consider if Trying this at Home

Many of the software packages for Torah Codes that are on the market have one or more of the following problems or limitations:

• The ads for the programs often emphasize the very uses that comprise abuses - finding the future, finding your own destiny, etc.
• Most have no facility for searching non-Torah comparison texts such as War and Peace. Without this, one has great difficulty learning the difference between ordinary and extraordinary results.
• The statistics calculated by many of these programs assume that we specified in advance exactly which ELS's would meet and exactly where. This is almost never the case - not for beginners or experts. This could mean that the computer (which knows everything, right?) indicates odds of one in a million and the true odds could be closer to 1 in 3! • In summary, these programs, if used without an appreciation for the fine points, can encourage people to jump to some very rash conclusions. This is as much a problem with the topic itself, as it is with the software.
